Since the outbreak of COVID-19 and the implementation of the lockdowns, advocates, scholars and even the United Nations have warned about a global increase in domestic violence. Every month, an average of 52 women are shot and killed by an intimate partner, and during the pandemic, it’s much harder for victims of domestic abuse to get help. Abusers with firearms are 5x more likely to kill their victims.
